Flora London Marathon 2

So let’s continue from my previous Flora London Marathon post.

A frog man. His face is no longer green after the rain. He should have used weather proof paint.

Spotted a postman in his uniform holding his partner while in the race.

Another policeman patrolling the area around Westminster.

This clock tower is known as the Big Ben. Its pretty close to the finishing line now. Keep it up guys! Go go go!

Its so crowded here. Some tube stations (underground) only allow passengers to exit the station only to maintain a one-way traffic system in order to control the crowd.

Stress with work, assignments or exams? Take a break! Get your self to some exotic islands, lying on the beach enjoying the great view.

Anyway, some of my friends were asking where are my Tioman photos so I decided to begin with this.

Do you like this photo? Drop me a comment and tell me what you think before I post more photos of the beach.

Flora London Marathon

On 13th April 2008, there were about 35 thousands people competed in the Flora London Marathon and more than 34 thousands finished the race which makes it the third largest London Marathon.

Have a look at the leader board if you are interested to know how your friends did in the marathon.

This was taken from the London Bridge.

There were police monitoring the area to ensure everyone’s safety.

So here are the runners, we have a superwoman.

He is quite close to the finishing line. Do you think you can run 41km at his age? I think he is awesome. Go go go!

A Jedi? Come join the dark side.

Go go Batman! Where’s Robin?

In case you need to answer your nature’s call, so we have the toilet man!

Notice the massive lens? I wish to have one of these.

Portobello Market 2

Posted by Chee Wei On April - 18 - 2008 ADD COMMENTS

Finally its Friday today. Can’t wait as tomorrow I’ll be heading up north to Newcastle for the weekend!

Anyway, here are some more photos of the antique I took in Portobello Market.

Look at those antique cameras!!! That’s my dSLR’s great great great grandfather. Not too sure how many generations ahead. haha.

antique cameras

So we went into a shop with lots of smaller stalls and I noticed some nice dishes and cups so took couple of shots.

antique cups

There are more here. Not sure how much each cost. Best not to break anything.

Is there anyone out there still interested in these gadgets? Imaging using one of these for a fashion show. Hmm..

antique cameras

Now this is even more interesting. I was happily trying to frame a shot here and someone on my right shouted at me.

Antique Phones

“Hey you! Can I help you?” and without even allowing me to respond “I say No Photos!”. Just right after i press the shutter he tried to cover my lens with his hand. Happened too quickly and I couldn’t stop my finger on time.hehe. I then apologised and leave immediately. *run before he ask me to delete the photo*

Some places just do not allow you to take photos. Therefore the conclusion is, having a smaller digicam is better than the gigantic dSLR (for situation only).

Portobello Market

Posted by Chee Wei On April - 16 - 2008 ADD COMMENTS

Last weekend was kinda bored so decided to drop by at Portobello market which is located on the West side of London.

Portobello is known to be one of the world’s famous street market. Amazing!!
The market itself was divided into many sections as you can see in the photo below.

portobello market signboard

We got off at Notting Hill Gate Tube Station and there are few policemen giving out liftlets saying “Beware of pickpockets”. I guess its a highly targeted area by pickpockets as there are many tourists. So if you are planning on going there just be extra careful with your belongings.

The market stretches about two miles which took us to Ladbroke Grove Tube Station. So either of the stations could get you to the market.

More photos on the market tomorrow.
