The Roman’s Colosseum

Posted by Chee Wei On October - 16 - 2008 ADD COMMENTS

It has been about 2 years now. I can still remember how great it was being in Rome. The architectures are really amazing. Anyway, here are some photos after quite awhile since my last post.

Colosseum, Rome

If you look at this photo carefully, it is a panorama shot. I stitched two photos together. not too bad eh? I was just using my 18-70mm lens back then, not wide enough for the space I could move.

Colosseum, Rome

This is the interior of the Colosseum. Its really amazing to be able to build such a stadium which could contain up to 50,000 spectators.

Colosseum, Rome

Most of the structures were destroyed, and additional structures were added to support the Colosseum.

Colosseum, Rome

This is located directly opposite the Colosseum. It was destroyed as well, noticed the broken pillars and broken walls.

Colosseum, Rome

Just another view of the Colosseum from a different angle of view.

Colosseum, Rome

We were there in the early morning, the sun wasn’t too warm (colour wise) but the structures were all ‘yellowish’ and plus the shadow caused by the other side of the Colosseum. Therefore, no able to capture the clear detail of the colosseum. How I wish I know how to do HDR back then :-P

Anyway, do enjoy and feel free to drop some comments ;)

Vatican City, Rome

Posted by Chee Wei On September - 27 - 2008 ADD COMMENTS

I have been to Rome about 2 years ago, that was just couple of months after I graduated and started working. Couldn’t believe that it was already 2 years, still feels like last year.

Anyway, we fly from London to Venice and then fly from Venice to Rome 3 days after.

Vatican City, Rome

This was the first place we visited after arriving in Rome, the Vatican City.

Vatican City, Rome

We were lucky enough to be there at the right time as the Pope was about to give a speech.

Vatican City, Rome

Thousands of thousands of people were waiting at the square just in the middle of the Vatican City.

Vatican City, Rome

Look closer, you should be able to see the Pope.

Rome

Some buildings just next to the Vatican City which is also in the city centre of Rome.

Castel St. Angelo, Rome

The Castel St. Angelo which is just within walking distance from the Vatican City, so you don’t really need to the metro.

Fontana di Trevi

The famous Trevi di Fontana (Trevi Fountain), throw a coin and make a wish.

Monumento a Vittorio Emanuele II, Rome

The Monumento Vittorio Emanuele II is a very spectacular monument standing proudly in the centre of Rome’s city centre.

More photos coming up, stay tuned.

Going to Santorini

Posted by Chee Wei On June - 9 - 2008 ADD COMMENTS

I am quite busy lately, that is why I haven’t been updating my blog as frequent as before. Finally, after all those hectic days my holiday is here!! I am going off to Santorini, Greece for a week as mentioned in my previous post.

Google it up if you haven’t heard of it. Santorini is an amazing island, the buildings the sunset, hopefully the weather is great then.

Anyway, I was looking through my previous travelling photos and I saw some good photos so I decided to share a few.

Canal in Venice, Italy

This is Venice (Italy) one of the most amazing places in Europe. Venice consists of over a hundred small islands. The main transport is water taxis/buses or gondolas!

Basilica San Marco, Venice, Italy

This is the Basilica San Marco, it was slightly flooded and that’s how I got the reflection.

Will be back next week with more photos!
