Saving a Child’s Life

Posted by Chee Wei On July - 19 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS

Ever wonder how you could make a difference? Sponsor a child today at World Vision. By just donating a small amount, you could make a big difference in their lives.

Ignorance is not bliss. There are many children out there who don’t even have the basic necessities of life. Electricity is Greek to them when safe drinking water is not readily available. Many of these kids never make it beyond 5 years of age due to diseases, hunger and poverty.
You could be the difference in their lives. If you choose to sponsor a child, you’ll be constantly updated about their needs and progress, also you’ll receive an annual progress report of the child you sponsored (below).

WorldVision - Annual Progress Report 2009

In the annual report, you’ll get a recent photo of the child, her health status, her living conditions, her progress in school, etc.

That’s all for now, time for bed.

The Pearl of the Atlantic

By now, we should be enjoying the sunny weather and the amazing view in Madeira. In case you are wondering which country Madeira belongs to or where actually Madeira is?

Here you are, a satellite view from google map, quite handy eh :)

Madeira

The marker with the label ‘A’ is Madeira. On the far left is America, bottom right is Africa, UK and Europe is on the top right corner. You might need a microscope to see it. haha. So click here to see Madeira on google map.
Anyway, will update more photos on Madeira when I’m back :)

Back in London

Posted by Chee Wei On March - 30 - 2009 ADD COMMENTS
I guess I haven’t been updating my blog for about 3 months. I have been too busy since Chinese New Year. I think I am always busy haha.
Well, you see the thing is that when I am back in my hometown, I have my family and friends to hangout with and that keeps me busy. So it has been all about work, food, rest and hangout. Life has been too good to be unoccupied.
So after months of being busy in Malaysia, I am back to London again. No, that doesn’t mean I will be free here, it just mean that I will be busy in another way.
Anyway, enough of all that “busy” stories. So, I landed in UK yesterday evening, tried to get some sleep in UK time-zone to fight the jet-lag issue. Woke up couple of times during the night. Check some mails and went online on msn. Some friends even greeted good morning, haha that’s like 3am in the morning so decided not to reply and went straight back to bed. Otherwise, I don’t think going-to-bed will happen in the near hour.
I took this shot with my phone when I was on my way to work today. Its really rare to see the sun in the UK and its good to have nice sunny weather again! Probably need to start booking some trips to Europe.

I hope I will be free to update my blog more frequently. See you guys around :)

Absolute Vodka

I think it was early last year. After work, had my dinner, showered, and discovered that there isn’t much to do. So I guess its time to play with my camera before either one of us rot. haha.

New Toys

Posted by Chee Wei On May - 17 - 2008 ADD COMMENTS

I am sure most of you out there love new gadgets especially us, guys.
Anyway, I just got myself a Sennheiser earphones couple of weeks ago. These earphones are supposed to sit inside your ears and it is able to cancel off 90% of the noise. Its pretty useful when you want to listen pure music without background noise disturbance.

Sennheiser Earphones

Well, not too sure if you guys noticed that I was using a macro lens for the these two photos. I borrowed a Nikkor 105mm f2.8 VR Macro from my colleague to test it with my new Nikon D300. The results seems pretty good.

Yes you read me right, I finally upgraded to a Nikon D300. Enjoy :)

It was to stop

Posted by Chee Wei On May - 15 - 2008 ADD COMMENTS

Its late spring now which means its gonna be summer next month. We are getting more daylight and sun doesn’t set until like 9 in the evening. It’ll get later as we are getting nearer to June and the longest day of the year will be in that month itself.

So I was out late one night, waited for a bus outside Waterloo Underground Station so I can get to Canada Water Station.

Late night at a bus stop

After a long wait, a bus No.188 was coming towards my direction. The next moment…

A bus just left

It didn’t stop at all. Just imagine from “waving for the bus to stop” to “waving goodbye”.
